In the Christmas classic "A Charlie Brown Christmas," the character Linus explains the true meaning of Christmas -- a monologue that was so controversial in 1965 that ABC-TV almost refused to air the Christmas special. They relented and it drew the largest audience for a Christmas show in history -- 45 percent of all people watching TV that night.
